What Are OEM Badges & Nameplates
OEM logos, badges and nameplates are durable identification tags attached to products, machinery, or equipment to showcase the Original Equipment Manufacturer's brand and provide essential information. They are typically manufactured as 2D or 3D badges using materials like ABS, anodized aluminum, stainless steel and more. They are designed to withstand harsh environments, ensuring that your logos, serial numbers, model details, and compliance certifications remain legible over the product's lifespan. In addition to enhancing brand recognition but also aid in traceability, safety, and regulatory compliance. We are so confident in our abilities that if you are not completely blown away we will remake them for free!

Electroformed Badges & Nameplates
What is electroforming? Electroforming offers precision that simply can't be matched by other processes with the ability to replicate intricate details, making it ideal for producing complex metal badges that are difficult or impossible to manufacture through traditional methods. Here are some of its advantageous:
- Unmatched Precision: Replication of intricate details and complex geometries with extremely high accuracy, down to 1-2 microns.
- Superior Surface: Custom metal logos with smooth, premier surface finishes, often eliminating the need for additional polishing or finishing.
- Consistency: High reproducibility, meaning each personalized badge is virtually identical in dimensions and properties.
- Material Efficiency: Material is deposited only where needed, reducing material waste compared to subtractive methods like CNC machining.
- Material Selection: A variety of metals can be electroformed, including nickel, copper, gold, silver, and nickel-cobalt alloy.
* Electroforming can be integrated with other technologies to create multi-material badges, nameplates and components.

Why Is Durability Testing So Important?
OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) badges and nameplates are typically required (depending on the industry) to undergo a variety of tests to ensure they meet quality standards and can withstand environmental and operational stresses. These tests assess factors such as durability, corrosion resistance, adhesion, and overall performance. Below are common tests conducted:
✔️ CASS (The Copper Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray) - Evaluates corrosion resistance, especially for decorative coatings like nickel and chromium (i.e. chrome plated badges).
✔️ Thermal Cycling Test -Determines the ability to withstand repeated temperature fluctuations without degradation.
✔️ Adhesion Strength Test - Cross-cut test is typically utilized to assess the adhesion strength of paints and coatings by
cutting a grid pattern through the coating layer down to the underlying surface, evaluating its resistance to peeling or
separation.
✔️ Humidity Exposure Test - Assesses performance in high-humidity environments.
✔️ UV Testing - Evaluates resistance to ultraviolet light, which can cause fading or degradation.
*More tests are available. The type of testing will be dependent on your 3D badges specific application.
